How was Sparkbuddies born?
I’m Esther, the founder of Sparkbuddies.
When I first started my business journey, I did not know how to build a team, find mentors, or get people to care about my ideas. Most online content is intended for adults and is often expensive to access. Therefore, I created Sparkbuddies, a space where people like you can find community, clarity, and the courage to move forward.
I was born in Singapore and moved to Paris when I was 8. Back then, I knew very little about entrepreneurship. At 14, after relocating to Toronto, I discovered a passion for both business and writing. I joined my school’s newspaper club and eventually became co-editor-in-chief, which helped me expand my love for writing. That same drive, but for business, led me to compete in the Blue Ocean pitch competition, where I placed in the top 3% and earned a spot in LaunchX 2025. Now I’m building Sparkbuddies with a team to empower other students to do the same.
Our ultimate goal at Sparkbuddies is to establish local chapters where entrepreneurs can come together, network, and discuss their business ideas; host a pitch competition judged by real AI startup founders; and offer mentorship opportunities to entrepreneurs.
