Are you a high school student with a game-changing idea, but do not know how to bring it to life?

Welcome to Sparkbuddies!

This is our very first newsletter, and whether you’re a student dreaming of finding a community of young entrepreneurs like yourself or want to learn how to launch your business, you’re in the right place.

Sparkbuddies is a community-led platform built by teen entrepreneurs for teen entrepreneurs.

We’re a safe space for high school students who want to build startups, share their journeys, and learn from one another. Through this newsletter, we’ll be sharing:

  • No-code tools to help you build tech products fast

  • Exclusive interviews and insights from teen founders

  • Regular business ideas and pitch inspiration

  • Tips on launching your first startup, even if you’re starting from scratch

At Sparkbuddies, our mission is to empower high school entrepreneurs by providing a supportive platform to bring their innovative ideas to life. We strive to create a safe and encouraging environment where teens can confidently share their businesses, connect with peers, and transform the often intimidating process of launching a first business into an achievable and exciting journey.

How was Sparkbuddies born?

I’m Esther, the founder of Sparkbuddies.

When I first started my business journey, I did not know how to build a team, find mentors, or get people to care about my ideas. Most online content is intended for adults and is often expensive to access. Therefore, I created Sparkbuddies, a space where people like you can find community, clarity, and the courage to move forward.

I was born in Singapore and moved to Paris when I was 8. Back then, I knew very little about entrepreneurship. At 14, after relocating to Toronto, I discovered a passion for both business and writing. I joined my school’s newspaper club and eventually became co-editor-in-chief, which helped me expand my love for writing. That same drive, but for business, led me to compete in the Blue Ocean pitch competition, where I placed in the top 3% and earned a spot in LaunchX 2025. Now I’m building Sparkbuddies with a team to empower other students to do the same.

Our ultimate goal at Sparkbuddies is to establish local chapters where entrepreneurs can come together, network, and discuss their business ideas; host a pitch competition judged by real AI startup founders; and offer mentorship opportunities to entrepreneurs.
